Gonna need a source for that. I'm aware he sold MtGox Live (a trading chart page using MtGox's public plugin) to MtGox, but I've never heard of him being ownefounder of MtGox.
In fact, if my memory serves me, Jed McCaleb (Ripple) was the founder who sold it to Mark Karepeles, end of story.

This Bitcoin address associated with the MtGox hack has a balance of 75,957.20 BTC and not a single satoshi has ever been moved out of it

You can see the history of the address here: https://bitinfocharts.com/bitcoin/address/1FeexV6bAHb8ybZjqQMjJrcCrHGW9sb6uF
On March 1, 2011 it received 79,956 BTC in a single transaction in what has been reported by Mark Karpeles to be associated with the MtGox hack. Karpeles is MagicalTux on Reddit. He seems to indicate that he believes Jed McCaleb (who is mtgox apparently in the chat logs in the linked reddit thread) may have had some part in the hack.
It's kind of a weird cultural aspect of Bitcoin that people continue to send coins to specific addresses as a sign of appreciation or respect or worship or whatever. For instance, this address has received an additional 1.2 BTC over the years, from 317 other transactions, mostly just dust amounts. Another is the BitcoinEater unspendable address that has received over 13 BTC in 306 transactions over the years. Another one that I guess makes a bit more sense is the address associated with the coinbase from the first block reward, which has received an extra 18.2 BTC in over 1900 transactions over the years. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Founding Fathers of Bitcoin

I'm working on a "project" and need help identifying people who might be considered the "Founding Fathers of Bitcoin" (or Mothers)
I'm not sure yet how to define founding fathers but it has to include people instrumental to the creation and development of Bitcoin. Based on my research, here are some names I've come up with. I have more on "a list" but, after talking to a few bitcoin enthusiasts, here's my starter list...
If you believe someone belongs on a list like this, an explanation as to why will be helpful (any specific contributions, etc). Thanks.

Who is Sunlot Holdings? Can this proposal be a trick? planned by the big the guys in collaboration with Mark Karpeles.

First of all i don't give a fuck (actually I do) about what's happening with mtgox, but I keep thinking what if this is a frame-up made by the big guys? For them to be able to buy cheap coins and sell them later for a lot of money. Can this be possible?
I see Mark Karpeles a greedy sly person, a person who made a fortune from nothing, a person who would not say NO to an opportunity to earn some more millions.

Plan B: Voluntary payment from Karpeles of excess funds after trustee distribution

Let's say Plan A fails, which is basically to prove to the court and trustee that Mtgox was only custodian and never owner of customer's bitcoins.
Here are the facts: Karpeles still owns 88% of Tibanne who 100% owns Mtgox. 12% used to be owned by Jed McCaleb now owned by Sunlot?????? => Not sure, but those 12% are basically gone.
Karpeles is also in personal bankruptcy, so is Tibanne. If Plan A fails, Karpeles ends up with basically over 500 million dollars.
I think he once mentioned on reddit that he isn't to eager to get all the money for himself.
The proposal is in short: Karpeles pays his creditors and taxes*, gets to keep 5 million dollars for himself (basically 1%) and pays the excess to BTC creditors in exchange for no threats and lawsuits so that he can live the rest of his life in peace and still gets to be fairly wealthy.
Fiat creditors may still be butthurt although they will get 100% paid anyway.
*Taxes are a possible issue. I'm not 100% sure how Japan treats the capital gains on bitcoin and what their tax rate is. It could end up costing 30-50% of the 500 million dollar excess.
There are one or two possibilites to avoid the taxes maybe.
If he would agree to such a proposal the best case scenario would be to get 61-87% of the excess money to btc creditors.

Should one make sure to stay away from the next "Big Secret Bitcoin Project" by Mr Jed McCaleb?

As the clear pattern now emerging, I am just wondering if to create a project and then make sure that it dies, is the way Mr. Jed McCaleb prefers to do things in general? Here is the pattern and why I am wondering:
  1. He created MtGox and soon left it (sold it). As we now know, MtGox became a number one disaster and a major failure for the whole Bitcoin community and its supporters/investors.
  2. He co-created Ripple network and (again) soon left the team about a year ago. BUT, as Ripple began gaining some solid grounds, Mr. McCaleb now decided to practically devalue the XRP (the native Ripple network currency) by selling all of his holdings and thus artificially driving the XRP market price down to next to nothing. This really comes out as "My way or no way", as if he was expecting the project to die after he left.
  3. Today, he is working on a new "Big Secret Bitcoin Project". So, would it make sense to assume that this new project will be done in some buggy, unfinished, basic "proof of concept" manner (as in the past) and that he will then either sell it oand take a big steak in it (..in order to to veto it later, if he feels like it)?
