The state of cryptocurrency in China. If anyone tells you otherwise, they are lying.

It's been a while since I outlined the state of cryptocurrency in China, but I should probably tell you guys why this is important first: Journalists will do anything to shill you their "news" so they can get their sponsor dollars. Crypto YouTubers who comment on the story without reading the original news story or transpiration of events in Chinese further distort this message. With that out of the way, let's dive in to free knowledge.
-Mining is just fine, so long as miners have all of their documents properly registered. The Chinese government thinks, "Whatever, sell this stuff to foreigners. We'll gladly let more USD flow in to our economy in exchange for thin air." -Most Chinese-owned exchanges set up offices abroad, usually in Singapore. Some have dev teams in Malaysia / Taiwan. -The Chinese government hasn't really out-right BANNED crypto ownership as far as I know, but they have certainly made it very difficult to own it. Which leads me to these two points: -I tried sending an APK file for an android phone wallet app to an American buddy of mine and his Chinese-made phone with a specialized Chinese distro of android would not allow him to install it. He sent me a screenshot that showed his phone basically displayed, "Unable to install application." or something similar. -I wouldn't be surprised to learn that Chinese-made distros of Windows, Linux, or Macintosh-specific operating systems do not allow users to install wallets to their desktops either - but I have not verified this. -These last two points can be circumvented by buying phones and operating systems made for foreign countries on China's ebay equivalent, Taobao. -There have been previous court-rulings where bitcoin was recognized as PROPERTY. -My view is that the CCP's attitude is, "Less crypto, less headache. Turn it in to USD and bring it in to China." -I would not be surprised to learn that later down the road the CCP makes a list of present cryptocurrencies that may be bought and sold legally in China in the future. I would only be shocked if bitcoin were not on that list. -It is commonplace for employees of exchanges to get paid in crypto in China. This is usually done with a stablecoin. -I have an undergraduate degree in Chinese and previously worked for a Chinese-owned exchange. This is where my knowledge comes from. -Everything listed here to this point in time should be treated like "law" unless Xi Jinping himself or another government official say otherwise in the near future.
Any questions? Fire away.

Windows / Linux Guide to using Trezor with Bitcoin Core (HWI)

This is a guide to using your Trezor with Bitcoin Core. It may seem like more trouble than it's worth but many applications use Bitcoin Core as a wallet such as LND, EPS, and JoinMarket. Learning how to integrate your Trezor into a Bitcoin Core install is rather useful in many unexpected ways. I did this all through the QT interfaces, but it's simple to script. There is a much simpler guide available from the HWI github, and the smallest Linux TLDR is here
Unfortunately, I don't have access to a Coldcard or Ledger. I'm not sure how the setpin or -stdinpass parameters are handled on that HW.

( A ) Install TrezorCTL, HWI, and build GUI

You only need to set the wallet up once, but may repeat to upgrade

( A.I ) Download extract and install HWI

  1. Download and isntall Python
  2. Download https://github.com/bitcoin-core/HWI/archive/1.1.2.zip
  3. Extract it to a working folder (assumes C:\User\Reddit\src\HWI)
  4. Change Directory (cd) to working folder cd "C:\User\Reddit\src\HWI"
  5. Setup venv python -m venv .venv
  6. Enter venv .venv\Scripts\activate.bat 1
  7. Install dependencies python -m pip install -U setuptools pip wheel
  8. Install TrezorCTL python -m pip install trezor[hidapi]
  9. Install HWI python -m pip install hwi pyside2
  10. Download github.com/libusb/libusb/releases/download/v1.0.23/libusb-1.0.23.7z
  11. Extract MS64\dll\libusb-1.0.dll from the archive
  12. Copy to pywin copy libusb-1.0.dll .venv\Lib\site-packages\pywin32_system32\

( A.II ) Build the QT UI files

  1. Download and install MSYS2
  2. Launch a mingw64.exe shell
  3. CD to working folder cd "C:\User\Reddit\src\HWI"
  4. Enter venv source .venv/Scripts/activate 1
  5. Run UI build bash contrib/generate-ui.sh

( B ) Create a Trezor wallet in Bitcoin Core (testnet)

You only need to set the wallet up once, no private key data is stored, only xpub data

( B.I ) Retrieve keypool from HWI-QT

  1. Launch hwi-qt.exe --testnet (assuming testnet)
  2. Click Set passphrase (if needed) to cache your passphrase then click Refresh
  3. Select you trezor from the list then click Set Pin (if needed)
  4. Ensure your Trezor in the dropdown has a fingerprint
  5. Select Change keypool options and choose P2WPKH
  6. Copy all the text from the Keypool textbox

( B.II ) Create the wallet in Bitcoin QT

  1. Launch Bitcoin Core (testnet) (non-pruned) 2
  2. Select Console from the Window menu
  3. Create a wallet createwallet "hwi" true
  4. Ensure that hwi is selected in the console wallet dropdown
  5. Verify walletname using the getwalletinfo command
  6. Import keypool importmulti '' (note ' caging)
  7. Rescan if TXNs are missing rescanblockchain 3

( C.I ) Grab Tesnet coins

  1. Select the Receive tab in Bitcoin Core (testnet)
  2. Ensure that the Wallet dropdown has hwi selected
  3. Select Create new receiving address and copy address
  4. Google "bitcoin testnet faucet" and visit a few sites
  5. Answer captcha and input your addressed copied from C.I.3

( D ) Spending funds with HWI

This is how you can spend funds in your Trezor using Bitcoin Core (testnet)

( D.I ) Create an unsigned PSBT

  1. Select the Send tab in Bitcoin Core (testnet)
  2. Ensure that the Wallet dropdown has hwi selected
  3. Verify your balance in Watch-only balance
  4. Rescan if balance is wrong (see B.II.7) 3
  5. Craft your TXN as usual, then click Create Unsigned
  6. Copy the PSBT to your clipboard when prompted

( D.II ) Sign your PSBT

  1. In HWI-QT click Sign PSBT
  2. Paste what you copied in D.I.6 in PSBT to Sign field
  3. Click Sign PSBT
  4. Copy the text for PSBT Result

( D.III ) Broadcast your TXN

  1. Select the Console window in Bitcoin Core (testnet)
  2. Ensure that the Wallet dropdown has hwi selected
  3. Finalize PSBT: finalizepsbt
  4. Copy the signed TXN hex from the hex field returned
  5. Broadcast TXN: sendrawtransaction

Final Thoughts

I did this all through the GUI interfaces for the benefit of the Windows users. Windows console is fine, but the quote escaping in windows console is nightmarish. Powershell would be good, but that throws this on a whole another level for most Windows folks.
There is also the need to use HWI-QT due to a bug in blank passphrases on the commandline. You can work around it by toggling passphrase off or on, but again, it's more than I wanted to spell out.
Footnotes:
  • 1. - Later version of python put the activate script under 'bin' instead of 'Script'
  • 2. - You can run pruned, but you need to have a fresh wallet
  • 3. - Rescan is automatic on 'importmulti' but I was pruned so it was wierd

Cannot create wallet with Trezor

Hi guys, I am stuck trying to create a wallet for my Trezor with Electrum 4.0.4 on Linux:
I get to the point of entering the password twice and then selecting the path. But after that it just says
'Please wait' and then the window hangs. The only way to do something is either kill the process or send a `SIGINT` signal.
Interestingly after sending a SIGINT the window unfreezes and asks me again for the password (also during the whole freeze the Trezor device writes that I should enter my password). After entering the password again I get an empty error window and on closing it everything closes.
I started electrum with `electrum -v` to get some logs:

What I currently use for privacy (after almost 2 years of long investing into it)

First of all, my threat model: I'm just an average person that wants to AVOID the maximum I can to be monitored and tracked by the government and big corps, a lot of people out there REALLY hate me and I've gone through lots of harassment and other stuff, I also plan to take my activism and love for freedom more seriously and to do stuff that could potentially lead me to very high danger or even put my life on the line. That being said, my main focus is on something that is privacy-friendly but also something with decent security (no point having a lot of privacy if a script kiddie can just break into it an boom, everything is gone) anonymity is also desirable but I'm pretty aware that true 100% anonymity is simply not possible and to achieve the maximum you can of it currently you'd have to give up A LOT of stuff in which I don't think I really could. So basically, everything that I said + I don't want to give up some hobbies of mine (as playing games etc)
Here's what I use/have done so far, most of it is based on privacytools.io list and research I've done.
Mobile:
Google Pixel 3a XL running GrapheneOS
Apps: Stock apps (Vanadium, Gallery, Clock, Contacts etc) + F-DROID, NewPipe, OsmAnd+, Joplin, Tutanota, K-9 Mail, Aegis Authenticator, KeePassDX, Syncthing, Signal, Librera PRO, Vinyl, Open Camera and Wireguard.
I also use BlahDNS as my private DNS.
Other smartphone stuff/habits: I use a Supershieldz Anti Spy Tempered Glass Screen Protector on my phone and I also have a Faraday Sleeve from Silent Pocket which my phone is on most of the times (I don't have smartphone addiction and would likely advice you to break free from smartphone addiction if you have it). I NEVER use bluetooth (thank god Pixel 3a have a headphone jack so yeah, no bluetooth earphones here) and always keep my Wi-Fi off if I'm not using it.
Computer:
I have a desktop that I built (specs: Asus B450M Gaming, AMD Ryzen 3 3300X, Radeon RX 580 8GB, 16GB DDR4 2666Mhz, 3TB HDD, 480GB SSD) that is dualbooted with QubesOS and Arch Linux.
Qubes is my main OS that I use as daily driver and for my tasks, I use Arch for gaming.
I've installed linux-hardened and its headers packages on my Arch + further kernel hardening using systctl and boot parameters, AppArmor as my MAC system and bubblewrap for sandboxing programs. I also spoof my MAC address and have restricted root access, I've also protected my GRUB with password (and use encrypted boot) and have enabled Microcode updates and have NTP and IPV6 disabled.
Also on Arch, I use iptables as a firewall denying all incoming traffic, and since it's my gaming PC, I don't game on the OS, instead, I use a KVM/QEMU Windows VM for gaming (search "How I Built The "Poor-Shamed" Computer" video to see what I'm talking about) I also use full disk encryption.
Software/Providers:
E-Mails: I use ProtonMail (Plus Account paid with bitcoin) and Tutanota (free account as they don't accept crypto payment yet, come on Tutanota, I've been waiting for it for 2 years already) since I have plus account on ProtonMail it allows me to use ProtonMail Bridge and use it on Claws Mail (desktop) and K-9 Mail (mobile) as for Tutanota I use both desktop and mobile app.
Some other e-mails habits of mine: I use e-mail aliases (ProtonMail plus account provides you with 5) and each alias is used for different tasks (as one for shopping, one for banking, one for accounts etc) and none of my e-mails have my real name on it or something that could be used to identify me. I also highly avoid using stuff that require e-mail/e-mail verification for usage (e-mail is such a pain in the ass tbh) I also make use of Spamgourmet for stuff like temporary e-mail (best service I found for this doing my research, dunno if it's really the best tho, heard that AnonAddy does kinda the same stuff but dunno, recommendations are welcomed)
Browsers/Search Engine: As mentioned, I use Vanadium (Graphene's stock browser) on mobile as it is the recommended browser by Graphene and the one with the best security for Android, for desktop I use a Hardened Firefox (pretty aware of Firefox's security not being that good, but it's the best browser for PC for me as Ungoogled Chromium is still not there in A LOT of things + inherent problems of Chrome as not being able to disable WebRTC unless you use an extension etc) with ghacks-user.js and uBlock Origin (hard mode), uMatrix (globally blocking first party scripts), HTTPS Everywhere (EASE Mode), Decentraleyes (set the recommended rules for both uBlock Origin and uMatrix) and Temporary Containers as addons. I also use Tor Browser (Safest Mode) on a Whonix VM on Qubes sometimes. DuckDuckGo is my to-go search engine and I use DNS over HTTPS on Firefox (BlahDNS as my provider once again)
browsing habits: I avoid JavaScript the maximum I can, if it's really needed, I just allow the scripts temporarely on uBlock Origin/uMatrix and after I'm done I just disable it. I also generally go with old.reddit.com instead of reddit.com (as JavaScript is not required to browse the old client), nitter.net for checking twitter stuff (although I rarely have something peaking my interest on Twitter) and I use invidious.snopyta.org as youtube front-end (I do however use YouTube sometimes if a video I wanna see can't be played on invidious or if I wanna watch a livestream) and html.duckduckgo.com instead of duckduckgo.com other than avoiding JavaScript most of my browsing habits are just common sense at this point I'd say, I also use privatebin (snopyta's instance) instead of pastebin. I also have multiple firefox profiles for different tasks (personal usage, shopping, banking etc)
VPN: I use Mullvad (guess you can mention it here since it's PTIO's recommended) paid with bitcoin and honestly best service available tbh. I use Mullvad's multihop implementation on Wireguard which I manually set myself as I had the time and patience to learn how.
password manager: KeePassXC on desktop and KeePassDX on my smartphone, my password database for my desktop is stored on a USB flash driver I encrypted with VeraCrypt.
some other software on desktop: LibreOffice (as a Microsoft Office substitute), GIMP (Photshop substitute), Vim (I use it for multiple purposes, mainly coding IDE and as a text editor), VLC (media player), Bisq (bitcoin exchange), Wasabi (bitcoin wallet), OBS (screen recording), Syncthing (file sync), qBitTorrent (torrent client) and Element (federated real-time communication software). I sadly couldn't find a good open-source substitute to Sony Vegas (tested many, but none was in the same level of Vegas imo, KDENLive is okay tho) so I just use it on a VM if I need it (Windows VM solely for the purpose of video editing, not the same one I use for gaming)
Other:
router: I have an Asus RT-AC68U with OpenWRT as its firmware. I also set a VPN on it.
cryptocurrency hardware wallet: I store all of my cryptocurrency (Bitcoin and Monero) on a Ledger Nano S, about 97% of my money is on crypto so a hardware wallet is a must for me.
I have lots of USB flash drivers that I use for Live ISOs and for encrypted backups. I also have a USB Data Blocker from PortaPow that I generally use if I need to charge my cellphone in public or in a hotel while on a trip (rare occasion tbh).
I have a Logitech C920e as webcam and a Blue Yeti microphone in which I never let them plugged, I only plug them if it's necessary and after I'm done I just unplug them.
I also have a Nintendo Switch Lite as a gaming console that I most of the times just use offline, I just connect to the internet if needed for a software update and then just turn the Wi-Fi off from it.
Other Habits/Things I've done:
payments: I simply AVOID using credit card, I try to always pay on cash (I live in a third-world country so thank god most of people here still depend on cash only) physically and online I try my best to either by using cryptocurrency or using gift cards/cash by mail if crypto isn't available. I usually buy crypto on Bisq as I just don't trust any KYC exchange (and neither should you) and since there aren't many people here in my area to do face to face bitcoin trade (and I'm skeptical of face to face tbh), I use the Wasabi Wallet (desktop) to coinjoin bitcoin before buying anything as this allows a bit more of privacy, I also coinjoin on Wasabi before sending my bitcoins to my hardware wallet. I also don't have a high consumerism drive so I'm not constantly wanting to buy everything that I see (which helps a lot on this criteria)
social media/accounts: as noted, aside from Signal and Element (which I don't even use that often) I just don't REALLY use any social media (tried Mastodon for a while but I was honestly felt it kinda desert there and most of its userbase from what I've seen were some people I'd just... rather don't hang with tbh) and, althoug not something necessary is something that I really advise people to as social media is literally a poison to your mind.
I also don't own any streaming service like Netflix/Amazon Prime/Spotify etc, I basically pirate series/movies/songs and that's it.
I've also deleted ALL my old accounts from social media (like Twitter etc) and old e-mails. ALL of my important and main accounts have 2FA enabled and are protected by a strong password (I use KeePass to generate a 35 character lenght password with numbers, capital letters, special symbols etc, each account uses a unique password) I also NEVER use my real name on any account and NEVER post any pictures of myself (I rarely take pictures of stuff if anything)
iot/smart devices: aside from my smartphone, I don't have any IOT/smart device as I honestly see no need for them (and most of them are WAY too expensive on third-world countries)
files: I constatly backup all of my files (each two weeks) on encrypted flash drivers, I also use BleachBit for temporary data cleaning and data/file shredding. I also use Syncthing as a substitute to stuff like Google Drive.
Future plans:
learn to self-host and self-host an e-mail/NextCloud (and maybe even a VPN)
find something like BurneHushed but FOSS (if you know any please let me know)
So, how is it? anything that I should do that I'm probably not doing?

Stakenet (XSN) - A DEX with interchain capabilities (BTC-ETH), Huge Potential [Full Writeup]

Preface
Full disclosure here; I am heavily invested in this. I have picked up some real gems from here and was only in the position to buy so much of this because of you guys so I thought it was time to give back. I only invest in Utility Coins. These are coins that actually DO something, and provide new/build upon the crypto infrastructure to work towards the end goal that Bitcoin itself set out to achieve(financial independence from the fiat banking system). This way, I avoid 99% of the scams in crypto that are functionless vapourware, and if you only invest in things that have strong fundamentals in the long term you are much more likely to make money.
Introduction
Stakenet is a Lightning Network-ready open-source platform for decentralized applications with its native cryptocurrency – XSN. It is powered by a Proof of Stake blockchain with trustless cold staking and Masternodes. Its use case is to provide a highly secure cross-chain infrastructure for these decentralized applications, where individuals can easily operate with any blockchain simply by using Stakenet and its native currency XSN.
Ok... but what does it actually do and solve?
The moonshot here is the DEX (Decentralised Exchange) that they are building. This is a lightning-network DEX with interchain capabilities. That means you could trade BTC directly for ETH; securely, instantly, cheaply and privately.
Right now, most crypto is traded to and from Centralised Exchanges like Binance. To buy and sell on these exchanges, you have to send your crypto wallets on that exchange. That means the exchanges have your private keys, and they have control over your funds. When you use a centralised exchange, you are no longer in control of your assets, and depend on the trustworthiness of middlemen. We have in the past of course seen infamous exit scams by centralised exchanges like Mt. Gox.
The alternative? Decentralised Exchanges. DEX's have no central authority and most importantly, your private keys(your crypto) never leavesYOUR possession and are never in anyone else's possession. So you can trade peer-to-peer without any of the drawbacks of Centralised Exchanges.
The problem is that this technology has not been perfected yet, and the DEX's that we have available to us now are not providing cheap, private, quick trading on a decentralised medium because of their technological inadequacies. Take Uniswap for example. This DEX accounts for over 60% of all DEX volume and facilitates trading of ERC-20 tokens, over the Ethereum blockchain. The problem? Because of the huge amount of transaction that are occurring over the Ethereum network, this has lead to congestion(too many transaction for the network to handle at one time) so the fees have increased dramatically. Another big problem? It's only for Ethereum. You cant for example, Buy LINK with BTC. You must use ETH.
The solution? Layer 2 protocols. These are layers built ON TOP of existing blockchains, that are designed to solve the transaction and scaling difficulties that crypto as a whole is facing today(and ultimately stopping mass adoption) The developers at Stakenet have seen the big picture, and have decided to implement the lightning network(a layer 2 protocol) into its DEX from the ground up. This will facilitate the functionalities of a DEX without any of the drawbacks of the CEX's and the DEX's we have today.
Heres someone much more qualified than me, Andreas Antonopoulos, to explain this
https://streamable.com/kzpimj
'Once we have efficient, well designed DEX's on layer 2, there wont even be any DEX's on layer 1'
Progress
The Stakenet team were the first to envision this grand solution and have been working on it since its conception in June 2019. They have been making steady progress ever since and right now, the DEX is in an open beta stage where rigorous testing is constant by themselves and the public. For a project of this scale, stress testing is paramount. If the product were to launch with any bugs/errors that would result in the loss of a users funds, this would obviously be very damaging to Stakenet's reputation. So I believe that the developers conservative approach is wise.
As of now the only pairs tradeable on the DEX are XSN/BTC and LTC/BTC. The DEX has only just launched as a public beta and is not in its full public release stage yet. As development moves forward more lightning network and atomic swap compatible coins will be added to the DEX, and of course, the team are hard at work on Raiden Integration - this will allow ETH and tokens on the Ethereum blockchain to be traded on the DEX between separate blockchains(instantly, cheaply, privately) This is where Stakenet enters top 50 territory on CMC if successful and is the true value here. Raiden Integration is well underway is being tested in a closed public group on Linux.
The full public DEX with Raiden Integration is expected to release by the end of the year. Given the state of development so far and the rate of progress, this seems realistic.
Tokenomics
2.6 Metrics overview (from whitepaper)
XSN is slightly inflationary, much like ETH as this is necessary for the economy to be adopted and work in the long term. There is however a deflationary mechanism in place - all trading fees on the DEX get converted to XSN and 10% of these fees are burned. This puts constant buying pressure on XSN and acts as a deflationary mechanism. XSN has inherent value because it makes up the infrastructure that the DEX will run off and as such Masternode operators and Stakers will see the fee's from the DEX.
Conclusion
We can clearly see that a layer 2 DEX is the future of crypto currency trading. It will facilitate secure, cheap, instant and private trading across all coins with lightning capabilities, thus solving the scaling and transaction issues that are holding back crypto today. I dont need to tell you the implications of this, and what it means for crypto as a whole. If Stakenet can launch a layer 2 DEX with Raiden Integration, It will become the primary DEX in terms of volume.
Stakenet DEX will most likely be the first layer 2 DEX(first mover advantage) and its blockchain is the infrastructure that will host this DEX and subsequently receive it's trading fee's. It is not difficult to envision a time in the next year when Stakenet DEX is functional and hosting hundreds of millions of dollars worth of trading every single day.
At $30 million market cap, I cant see any other potential investment right now with this much potential upside.
This post has merely served as in introduction and a heads up for this project, there is MUCH more to cover like vortex liquidity, masternodes, TOR integration... for now, here is some additional reading. Resources
TLDR; No. Do you want to make money? I'd start with learning how to read.

Mainnet beta v1 p2p Release

Mainnet beta v1 p2p Release
Libonomy is one of a kind blockchain which through innovation and creativity has achieved all the set goals with great success. The kind of innovation that attracts and reaches out to masses of people who have knowledge and understanding that this system is fulfilling its role of greatness. Many only talk about the next level blockchain technology that would fix all the existing problems all in one, Libonomy is already on a road to fulfill this ideology.
We are designing and coding an autonomous blockchain that will run on first ever AI based consensus algorithm, which will make Libonomy world’s first every autonomous, interoperable and scalable blockchain. To learn more about Libonomy visit website and read this.
Mainnet Beta v1

Benefits

The major difference is that Libonomy Blockchain resolves the issues previous consensus algorithms that have been used for a very long time. All of these consensus algorithms have their own drawbacks, Libonomy believes in providing an error-free consensus engine that has been architecture very carefully. It uses Artificial Intelligence – automated, computer generated engine that saves time, energy and gives high throughput, is scalable, interoperable and autonomous.

Project Status

We are working hard towards our first patch - which is public mainnet beta release running Libonomy AI consensus algorithm. In the upcoming days our team will be release the full node running the consensus algorithm with which users will be able to carry out the transactions on their local systems as well.

Important

The current release interacts with staking consensus through our AI protocol so as to ensure that current community acceptance is achieved and in the later upgrades Libonomy will deprecate such systems.

Technical information

Repository
This repository contains the necessary configurations and instruction required in order to interact with Libonomy mainnet-beta-release-v1 for the developer community. It is to inform that all the necessary deployment required to run our mainnet network protocol is up and running with all the proper configurations. Currently the configure nodes are around 15 which are running virtually on some machines, but the nodes are configured in multiple regions.
In order to use commands on network developer community can download our mainnet build file for Linux which is present in this repository and use wallet-CLI repository to make commands. Further release of the mainnet from next week will include our mainnet node release for developers in which we will make our mainnet crypto currency code open source and they can then use our code as well or even can make run time build.
This node is referred to as Libonomy mainnet daemon. Just like bitcoin or other crypto currency who use daemon as a service. Likewise, Libonomy provides community with daemon service as well.
However, our next release will be configured in a way that our AI protocol is connected with Staking Consensus protocol so the community who don’t have a lot of knowledge about Aphelion protocol can make use of their staking blockchain knowledge for carrying out validation activities on Libonomy as well.
This release also comes with compatibility of smart contract which will be interoperable with Ethereum in its release of next month. Which means that when Libonomy will demonstrate its blockchain reboot the current blockchain will never get affected or even the smart contracts. This reboot feature can be regarded as first blockchain which can even reboot itself without creating a fork or disrupting the current running network.
It should also be highlighted that Libonomy is actively making its releases and necessary upgrades in its systems so in case of any inconsistency the community is advised to open issues on the relevant repository of GitHub or on Discord. Kindly also stay updated with our social media and developer community pages as well.

How much does it cost to develop a cryptowallet for business?

How much does it cost to develop a cryptowallet for business?
A cryptocurrency wallet is specific software that allows you to make global non-cash payments and keep your profit securely stored. There are multiple reasons why business owners switch to cryptocurrency wallets such as no government invasion, multi-currency operations, quickness, no physical currency involved. However, it is necessary to develop your personalized wallet if you want to scale your business and simplify financial transactions. In this article, we will discuss what is the average price of cryptowallet development and how it will benefit your business.
https://preview.redd.it/wxe1e9l5n5r51.jpg?width=2508&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5c0b9b94aba2bfe8f877b7aa3f27a0f0592ab5ce
Firstly, it is important to understand the necessity of cryptowallet for entrepreneurs:
  • some transactions require a long waiting period and verification in the bank:
  • high fees on international transactions and unprofitable currency exchange rate;
  • lack of privacy, since online money transfer through a bank is impossible without the provision of personal information;
How does cryptowallet work?
  • fast and secure transactions carried within a few minutes;
  • private keys are safely stored and the transaction is processed between blockchain network members:
  • transaction fees are relatively low in comparison with a bank;
  • a completely anonymous environment;
You should keep in mind a few things that will influence the cost before the development process
Wallet type
There are two main wallet types: the desktop (installed on the PC) and the mobile app that can provide users with constant access to their funds.
Bitcoin libraries
You can either create a cryptocurrency wallet using one of the libraries (e.g. Coinbase, BitcoinJ) for Android and iOS and synchronize it with various API’s or create an application from the scratch.
Size of the development company
If you decide to get a highly customized wallet app, the estimated price will largely depend on the size of the company you are choosing. Anyway, cryptowallet development requires large investments and even hiring a small-sized company will cost you from $15,000-$20,000. The pricing depends on the features included. Also, the type of coins you want to use in your wallet app is a factor that influences the cost. Since it is not possible to calculate the exact cost of development, we will present the average prices of the basic features that are compulsory in your app:
Backend development from $10,000
Design from $7,000
Web/Desktop $7,000
Also, you can add numerous features to secure and vary your transactions:
Secured authentication & authorization, Windows/Linux/Mac wallet, iOS app, Android app, push notifications, QR code scanner, customer support, multiple cryptocurrency, optional password protection etc.
The development of a cryptocurrency wallet is an innovative tool that can bring your business to the next level. Evercode Lab developed a unique multi-currency crypto wallets (Atomic Wallet and Guarda), guaranteeing the fastest transactions, maximum security, and anonymity. Our company provides a wide range of services from consulting to a full-time development team as well as crypto asset security.

How I lost 95 Bitcoin

I bought my first few Bitcoins in 2012; eventually I got around 100 and managed to hold most of them until this point. Yesterday they were stolen from me. Shortly after I made a transaction, I left my PC with Electrum open, I believe there was a key logger waiting for me to type my password as when I returned an hour later, I saw my account had been emptied.
This happened shortly after receiving my hardware wallet (ledger), which I never got round to filling up. Obviously storing £350k(that hurts to type) on my daily computer was a moronic thing to do.
See the transaction here: 220caec53bac39cc1a2d2692eecd385bca796fc1a839254ddd622b911344ae97
The Bitcoins were then split and are currently residing at these two addresses: r18JCmLzKQoZydXspc6CPwovWVwYtUT7DCx

I know I wont get these Bitcoins back but if anyone knows of a blockchain or malware analysis service or just want to give me advice, I would appreciate it.

Fun Fact: This is the closest a Millionaire Makers drawing thread will get to Christmas Eve! Comment to enter, and let’s make someone’s Christmas while we still can! [Drawing Thread #37]

OBLIGATORY EDIT: Thanks for the Silv'a, kind and generous stranger. For your generosity, have a video of Silver, from the hit video-game, Sonic the Hedgehog 2006, detailing the glorious benefits silver has on the Reddit culture! Thank you. (I hope you liked the joke.)

Santa Claus is coming! …and apparently it’s a 100,000 people in a red trench coat.

Edit: There are three deleted comments. The drill is to run the code again at 3:00 UTC, with a trial run before and after.
Quick Announcement:
On December 28, 2018, one week after this drawing, I will conduct a survey to help determine this subreddit’s direction. Additionally, the moderation team will unveil a new Discord server at the same time for our subscribers to discuss the subreddit and the drawing. Here are some questions you can expect (updated):
  • What day of the month would you like the /MillionaireMakers drawing to be held?
  • Should the code be further streamlined to acquire comment IDs at a faster and just pace? (Context: There's new code that can be used to prevent further cases of cheating, but it also changes the process.)
  • What is the best cryptocurrency blockchain to choose the winner from?
  • Should the [Drawing Thread] post's format be revamped in the future?
  • Should there be monthly or seasonal announcements the Monday of the [Drawing Thread]'s week?
If you would like to see something specific change over here at /MillionaireMakers, please click here! Your comments will help determine any additional questions the moderation team should ask the subscribers.
TL;DR: Leave a comment on this thread. A random user will be chosen, and everyone donates a dollar to make a millionaire. You are welcome to spread this thread via upvoting, telling friends and family, and sharing on social media! If you'd like to be reminded to donate to the winner by RemindMeBot, click here!
What is this, anyway?
Three years ago, a Redditor posted an idea in /Showerthoughts that speculated the fact, if a million people picked a certain Redditor and all donated just $1, they would have the power to make someone a millionaire.
This subreddit is an embodiment of that showerthought, and the monthly drawings are the attempts to make it happen.
We need your help to keep this running, which amounts to only $1 a month to make someone's day. In the long term, that’s $120 every decade, which is a much more affordable price than other expenses. How does it work? Below, you will find an explanation on entering, rules to keep in mind, the selection, and other important things to note.
How to enter:
  • REQUIRED: Leave only one (1) top level comment in reply to this thread! Replying to other comments will not count. It is highly recommended to comment "RemindMe! 3 days Donation for /millionairemakers", which will remind you via PM to donate.
Important Rules:
  • Only ONE top level comment per person (replies and subsequent-level comments aren't included), but feel free to reply to other comments. Making duplicate top level comments may result in exclusion from entering. Go to me to ensure you don't accidentally double comment.
  • If, by any chance, you do double comment, delete any extra duplicates ASAP, ideally before the thread is locked in 24 hours, as any chosen draws found to violate this will not be eligible to win, and will be banned from the subreddit.
  • Your account must be older than 30 days with some amount of activity. Throwaway accounts with very minimal activity will also not be eligible. This is to prevent multiple entries from the same person.
How will the winner be picked and how can you donate?
  • After 24 hours, this thread will close, and the method of selection will begin.
  • While attempts to make the selection method similar to 2017’s have been performed, it still varies from the original. For an example from a prior drawing, see [Draw #36]. For archival purposes, please click here for the original selection method.
  • Method's TL;DR: Your number is assigned by sorting the comments by old, so the first commenter will be 1, and the list of comments will be publicly released. The subreddit then waits for a randomly generated block (a string of numbers) from Bitcoin's blockchain, after a preselected date and time, and calculates the winner using a formula described in the posts mentioned above.
  • Comment IDs are downloaded at 2:00 UTC, three hours following the thread being locked. There will be a trial run prior to the time listed, one at the time listed, and one trial run thirty minutes after. If it is shown that the deletion of comments has occurred between any of the trial runs, or technical difficulties, the retrieval of the comments will be delayed by an hour, following the same procedures. For [Drawing Thread #37], this has occurred, and retrieval of comments will be delayed to 3:00 UTC.
  • While not necessary, to determine if you are on the list, please go to your comment and save it. The comment ID is what gets recorded and selected, which looks like this: e3yxpj4.
  • The user who created the winning comment will be informed of their luck and will provide any information necessary for their chosen payment methods (mods will help set this up if needed).
  • The generous Reddit community donates to this lucky person, hopefully making some worthy soul a millionaire! A donation table will be stickied to the winner’s post, giving users the freedom in how they donate.
  • The lucky Redditor follows up with a thank you within the next days, revealing to the community exactly how much was raised and thanking their generosity.
Reminders
  • Take the time you have available now to setup your PayPal, Square Cash, and Google Wallet account, and/or cryptocurrency wallets. (Note: Some services may not be available depending on where you reside.)
  • To buy any cryptocurrencies, you may use Coinbase for purchases using your bank account.
  • To store cryptocurrencies, there are many accessible wallets, and if you win, you will be guided on which ones to download. For Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash, it’s recommended to use the Electrum and Electron Cash wallet for Mac, Linux, and PC.
  • Please try your best to donate a $1, no matter who wins. Every single dollar, cent, anything really counts, so please take the effort to remember and go through with it.
  • If you want to be reminded to donate, please comment "RemindMe! 3 days Donation for /millionairemakers".
  • Spread the word! The more people who participate, the better this gets for everyone! There has been a correlation between this subreddit making it in /all and an increase in donations.
  • Try to cross-post to relevant subs, and upvote. There is a correlation between reaching /all and the amount of donations for the winner. (Please don't spam other subs though. We're not trying to make any enemies here.)
  • If you are under 18, please talk to your parents to get their consent to participate and use their help to setup a PayPal account.
MOST IMPORTANTLY
Remember, this is about generosity, making history, and coming together to make someone's life better. It takes three minutes to donate a bit to the winner, whether you're well off and want to donate a couple bucks, or going through tough times and can only donate a few pennies. Every cent counts.
Note about legality: This is NOT a lottery. You don't have to pay to enter. No prizes are given away directly by the moderators of this subreddit (the moderators will never even touch your donations; this is done voluntarily). As for gift taxes, according to the IRS they're generally paid by the donor, and any donations under $14,000 is not taxable.
If a lone $1 can get you a Dollar Tree-worthy present, imagine the possibilities with $1,000,000. You can go invite your family to a Disney World vacation, invite friends without hesitation, or put up Christmas decorations!
One million dollars can be enough to make someone’s Christmas. Spread the word: have your friends and family comment, post the link to your friendly-neighborhood social media network, and share it to anyone interested.
LET'S GIVE THE GIFT THAT KEEPS ON GIVING!
A Christmas delight,
With people dear, near, and cheer.
The winner’s tonight!

How can a TKEY messenger allow you to send funds anywhere in the world without commissions and in a matter of seconds?

How can a TKEY messenger allow you to send funds anywhere in the world without commissions and in a matter of seconds?

https://preview.redd.it/fnny8lcxse651.png?width=700&format=png&auto=webp&s=cbed2ff5216eb1dc813764d99f5b12dda17a37ab
Yesterday was the official release of the new flagship product — Tkey Messenger. Messenger is available in the browser and on desktops for the most popular systems Windows, macOS, and Linux. Soon, smartphone owners will be able to try out Tkey Messenger in action, the app will appear in the App Store and Google Play.
https://preview.redd.it/f4ca4g0nue651.png?width=1400&format=png&auto=webp&s=c857c896bf71771e3d01e0210f24da9a4fb68887
In the era of rapid communication and technology development, messengers have become our default products. We use them for business purposes, to communicate with friends and acquaintances — this has long been the norm. It would seem that why are other messengers created when there are many other instant messaging systems?
Today we will talk about what a Tkey Messenger is, what it can do today, what features will be included in it in the future, and most importantly, what we are creating It for and how we will develop it.

TKEY.ME

The abbreviated name of Tkey Messenger is tkey.me. First of all, TKEY-ME is a secure messenger with p2p audio and video calls, and in the future, a built-in digital wallet.
“Every day we communicate in messengers. We earn money at work. We make purchases and transfers. We are here to combine these processes in one application and make sending funds as easy as sending a message”

The Tkey Messenger as a new ecosystem

Do you think we are here to compete with other messengers? — No, there are a lot of great messengers. We are here to create our ecosystem and the internal market in it. Combine these processes in one application and make sending funds as easy as sending a message.
After all, we work in the field of FINTECH, cryptography, and blockchain, why not apply the best practices and knowledge in practice? Therefore, the TKEY Messenger should be considered for a large ecosystem.
This is a new payment segment that covers fast communication tools in combination with an internal payment system, a set of exchange practices, blockchain, cryptography, our own experience, and the experience of global companies.

How will the Tkey Messenger ecosystem work?

https://preview.redd.it/17bml1zpue651.png?width=1400&format=png&auto=webp&s=99ebd70745968452536546fb5a59841e8f3a9c52
Let’s start with the most important thing: money should be sent in a matter of seconds, regardless of the country of issue of the Bankcard and wherever you are.

Here is a simple example:

You or your relatives live abroad and you want to send funds quickly, for example, 2600 USD — you just open a chat with your loved one, send a message and 2600 USD in the same second become available on your loved one’s account.
https://preview.redd.it/nmz4ienrue651.png?width=697&format=png&auto=webp&s=c3902fc0df1ed2eba425c3f3db3eb8c40bc7a237
It turns out that you can exchange Tkeycoin for USD, EUR, or GBP in a matter of seconds, as well as instantly send them to any place in the world and without hidden fees, the exchange amount is immediately available on the screen.
Or you have Bitcoin, and the Recipient needs dollars — Tkey Messenger will take care of all the complex tasks, you will only need to send a message to make the payment.
Each completed payment will be processed through a digital payment system without Bank intervention. You can link your Bank card to automatically withdraw digital funds to your local currency.

Do you want to simplify payments even more?

Order a TKEY card, and it will automatically be linked to your Tkey Messenger account. Make payments online, make purchases in stores — it’s just as easy as you did before, only much more convenient, faster, and safer.
https://preview.redd.it/42f1dkktue651.png?width=1400&format=png&auto=webp&s=7305192230c379c0fe81d981208a8cef8a540a5c
The most important thing is that you can easily use digital assets in combination with Fiat currencies — just top up your account in messenger to start sending currency around the world.
“Moving money around the world should be as easy and cheap as sending a message. It doesn’t matter where you live, what you do, or how much you earn.”

Send TKEY or Bitcoin via message, has it become a reality?

In Tkey Messenger, you will be able to quickly send digital currency using a message. You can not specify a public address, but send a digital currency using a message.
Instantly send funds to friends or relatives anywhere in the world. No Bank, no problems, no hidden fees.

Top up your mobile phone or pay for the Internet?

The usual payments, such as the Internet or mobile payments, will certainly be available, because if we can transfer pounds from England to Canada in a matter of seconds, and the recipient will receive dollars, why can’t we make a payment for the Internet? “Of course you can.

Transfer funds by a nickname

You don’t need to know the recipient’s account, just send funds by their nickname to the Tkey Messenger, and the funds will arrive within a few seconds. Fast, convenient, and safe.

What do we get in the future when using a Tkey Messenger?

We get an ideal payment system with instant transactions, fast access to various currencies, including digital, instant international payments, a huge platform for business, a marketplace with trusted sellers, secure transactions, while fast communication, p2p calls, and video communication. Not to mention various chips, in the format: cashback, savings account, invest. products, etc.
  • International transfers without Commission and in seconds;
  • Instant account opening — just create an account to get access to payments;
  • Access to funds 24/7/365 wherever you are.
  • Multi-currency wallet — you can use both digital currencies and classic currencies, such as the pound, euro, and dollar.
  • Payment in digital currency anywhere in the world.
  • Save time and money.

How is this possible, you say?

More than real, we will answer. At the very beginning of the project, we planned to create a marketplace, and then finalized the concept with NFC payments in TkeyPay. Smoothly, all this develops into a single system, which will be merged into a Tkey Messenger.
The Tkey Messenger is convenient and secure, payment system, and marketplace. The entire financial industry is in your hands-in your smartphone.
https://preview.redd.it/ullvuelexe651.png?width=1001&format=png&auto=webp&s=ef883fa9de067b885138a231069ddc3c0414c7d3
The mobile Finance industry is developing rapidly against the backdrop of a growing number of Internet users and the increasing role of smartphones in modern life. Today, the mobile device market attracts about 2 billion people, who remain passive players in financial markets.
With the Tkey Messenger access, you always get access to instant Finance, shopping, and the nice things you want to get here and now. In practice, it has turned out that we can often forget the keys to the apartment, rather than the phone, so your finances will always be with you.

Join the global Tkey Messenger system right now

Release 1.0.0 is available in the web version and for Windows, macOS, and Linux operating systems, and shortly on your mobile devices.

Current functionality of Tkey Messenger 1.0.0

The Tkey Messenger version 1.0.0 is the core that opens up new features that we discussed above, payments, and more. Now it is a convenient and stylish messenger with an intuitive design, instant messaging, and secure audio and video communication.

The P2P audio and video calls in a Tkey Messenger

When creating the first version, we focused on high-quality video and audio communication. Now you can easily call by video and be sure that you will get a high-quality video stream, as well as the absence of restrictions from third parties because the connection is carried out on the principle of p2p.
Audio and video calls are made in p2p mode, so there is no recording of calls at all.
https://preview.redd.it/lyrnkfhgxe651.png?width=1384&format=png&auto=webp&s=fb0c93ca45fa6bd4f65c77f64c81b88b906e904a
You can chat with friends and colleagues around the world for free, and excellent audio and video quality will only positively affect the quality of your conversation.

Calls in the web version

The web version of Tkey Messenger is available at → http://web.tkey.me/. The web version has full call functionality, so you can easily call through it, both via video and audio.
Video calls are available with the “Share” function, you can easily “share” your screen for the interlocutor and show what is happening on it. This function can be used for presentations or training events.
Screen Sharing is a demonstration and broadcast of the screen. “Share” your screen for the interlocutor and show what is happening on it.
https://preview.redd.it/x5h6au9ixe651.png?width=459&format=png&auto=webp&s=9b71b9148b17b55636c5615cbf7d6535cc78aa56

Group video and audio calls for up to 50 people

In the web version, you can launch a group video call. In the chat, tap the “handset” icon — the call will be sent to all participants in the chat, so all participants in the group chat can hold a video conference of up to 50 people. The user can turn on the camera and not turn it on, but simply participate in a video conference via audio.
On average, messengers that support the function of video calls in high quality, hold a video stream of no more than 8–10 people. In a Tkey Messenger, group conferences support up to 50 people. Soon-public online broadcasts and streams.
On the call page, you can conveniently distribute the Windows of the connected video stream.
https://preview.redd.it/qf85k37kxe651.png?width=744&format=png&auto=webp&s=8074a48fca7ea492376460d5c15f1de27722f7ea

Unlimited private group chats

The first version only supports private chats and group chats. Group chats are also completely private, so there is no “Share” function, only the chat participant can invite another participant to the group chat.
Create your thematic chats. Work. Family. Friends. Be the first while we develop. Soon-public channels and chats.
Anyone can start an audio or video call, and the notification goes through all participants. Switching to audio or video mode can be switched right at the moment of the call.
As we have already mentioned, group chats are completely private. You can make video and audio calls, send messages, and invite other participants.
To invite a new chat participant, any user can invite another user to a group chat. To do this, click on the “three points” menu icon.

https://preview.redd.it/cyfuh6snxe651.png?width=428&format=png&auto=webp&s=ee38ed7f20fed0bcb576279a6701397cd777e913
Next, enter the nickname of the participant you want to invite to the group chat in the search.

Deleting information in group chats

In group chats, all information is deleted by the last person to leave the group chat. After deleting-all messages, media, photos, and other data that were in this chat are automatically deleted. If all participants leave the group chat, it will be automatically deleted, and all information published in the group chat will also be deleted.

It's time to make a millionaire and give the gift of giving! [Drawing Thread #36]

OBLIGATORY REDDIT GOLD AND PLATINUM EDIT: Please stop. You keep making me lose my editing virginity. Thanks though, kind strangers, but still stop. I don't deserve this.
SECOND EDIT: I also added a bullet point on downloading the list of comment IDs. For a quick rundown, I rescheduled it to 5:00 UTC, if you would like to replicate this for yourself.
THIRD EDIT: There has been a discrepency. Comments will be retrieved again at 6:00 UTC.
FOURTH EDIT: I overslept and now I am depressed. Comments will be retrieved again at 13:00 UTC.

Merry Giving of Thankfulness!

TL;DR: Leave a comment on this thread. A random user will be chosen, and everyone donates a dollar to make a millionaire. You are welcome to spread this thread via upvoting, telling friends and family, and sharing on social media! If you'd like to be reminded to enter the next drawing by RemindMeBot, click here!

One million dollars can be enough to change someone’s life. Spread the word: have your friends and family comment, post the link to your friendly-neighborhood social media network, and share it to anyone interested.
LET'S THANK MAKE A MILLIONAIRE!
Thanks for your patience.
I'm thankful for all of you.

Brave Browser v1.4.95 with WAYBACK MACHINE DETECTION and AD HISTORY FIXES.

Link dowload: https://brave.com/lmn287
In recent times, Brave browser quickly popularized and considered a unique browser for both laptops and phones, featuring an extremely fast page loading speed. So what is special about Brave and how to install it? Let's find out with BitcoinVN!

What is the Brave browser?

Unlike the Google Chrome browser or any common browser you usually see today, Brave is an open source browser developed by Brave Software Inc.
Based on Chromium browser kernel with deep customization to ensure security with blocking data collection, user behavior, blocking annoying ads and increasing browsing speed for users.
As of 2019, Brave supports both computers and phones with Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, and iOS operating systems.
📷

How does the Brave browser work?

Brave browser is available on iOS, Android, Mac OS, Windows and Linux platforms. Users on these platforms can browse safely and quickly. Brave does its job well without using much computer memory. Unlike most other popular browsers, Brave uses very little RAM (only about 170MB RAM).
One important thing to note: Brave is a Chromium-based browser. Browsers built on this platform are "notorious" for consuming a lot of memory, but Brave is an exception.

What is Brave browser special?

It is not natural that Brave browser when newly launched is such a community response. Some great features of the Brace browser:
📷

Default ad blocker

The biggest problem with mass browsers is that advertising is everywhere and cannot be controlled. Not only does that make users less interested in surfing the web, but advertising links when users visit them can be malware.
Understanding that, Brave has quickly launched automatic ad blocking. Users no longer need to search for the perfect ad blocker on the web. The ad blocking feature automatically protects the device from malware and tracking by advertisers. Brave is also working on a plan to replace potentially harmful ads.
Brave's ad tracking feature is very accurate. Users are suggested to be relevant ads because Brave performs tracking using local data. If an ad is unrelated to the user, it will be removed. Therefore, users receive appropriate ads based on this model. User data remains in the device because no third party is involved in this process.
Although Brave blocks third-party cookies, first-party cookies are not blocked by default. Users have the option to block or enable cookies on a given site.

Improve privacy while browsing the web

In particular, the feature of blocking malicious ads automatically allows users to surf the web safely. And Brave does not have access to user identification data. Data related to anonymous aggregated advertising campaigns is used, but cannot be retrieved back to user devices.
Brave also comes with extra features to enhance privacy while browsing the web. Combining HTTPS everywhere allows you to use web encryption whenever possible.
The Fingerprinting feature prevents third parties from tracking user activity. This feature can be enabled in the Settings tab.
Brave browser loading speed is also very fast. Brave's fast browsing is due to its lack of third-party advertising support. Therefore, there is very little content to download before visiting a favorite website. However, Brave's rendering speed is a bit lower than that of Google Chrome and Mozilla.

You will be paid to browse the web if desired

In the past, getting paid to browse the web was a distant dream. However, Brave browser has made that dream come true. All you have to do is activate Brave ads. Watch ads and get 15% of revenue. Content creators will be supported by users who love the content.
All payments are in BAT token format. This is a very great feature of Brave and BitcoinVN browser will help people learn more about this section "How to make money from Brave browser".

Mechanism of reward payment in Brave browser

Brave will pay rewards to viewers who see ads through the BAT (Basic Attention Token) coin - Tokens based on Ethereum technology can also be used as an account unit between advertisers, publishers and users. in Blockchain-based digital advertising and services platform.
📷
For example: When you use the Brave browser to access the content on the website https://news.bitcoinvn.io/ exam we will receive regular money from Brave. In contrast, you will also receive regular money from Brave when accepting to view the web without enabling Brave's ad blocking function.
This means that you accept viewing ads from other units running on the Brave browser and Brave will pay this fee to you. Of course, not only do you see ads but banner ads on websites instead of being turned off will appear as usual when viewed with Chrome.
Existing digital ad delivery depends on tracking browsing history, search query cookies and third parties. Brave does not support these. Integrating BAT into the browser involves the implementation of the BAT Ads system. The system displays ads to users based on information stored locally with this data. Targeting ads is much easier than regular web browsers.
This Brave browser model promotes privacy protection. The web browser history is kept private because all the data needed to deliver appropriate ads never leaves your system. The use of inappropriate ads is the reason people do not want to continue using the browser but Brave has completely removed that to increase the user experience. Therefore. It can be said that the BAT represents a fundamental revision of the way digital advertising is delivered. The time users see ads should not be wasted but users have to be paid for that.

Brave's reward system for content creators and users

Content creators depend on ads to stay active. However, ads are not displayed on the Brave browser so how does the Brave browser support online advertisers?
To solve that, the Brave browser takes a unique approach when it comes to compensating creators. The awards are made through the Brave Ads network and user contributions. Content creators will be required to register with the network before being eligible for revenue. By then, the registered content creator will earn 55% of the alternative advertising revenue.
Brave comes with a wallet BAT available, for this allows users to support your favorite sites. Users can download the wallet and distribute a specified amount of BAT to favorite websites, the wallet can be loaded via Bitcoin , Litecoin, Ethereum and BAT tokens. Credit cardholders use the Uphold payment processor. You can set a monthly BAT budget to be automatically distributed to frequently visited websites. You also have the right to set a percentage to be contributed. You will not have to see any ads but still support your favorite website.
Users can earn BAT by browsing Brave enabled sites. If the user agrees to replace the regular ads with anonymous ads from Brave ho will be paid in Basic Attention Token (BAT). Users will receive 15% of revenue. Revenue depends on the time spent on the Brave browser.
However, you must enable Brave ads because the browser blocks all ads by default. Before receiving any payment, you need to activate the wallet BAT token. For users who do not want to support any website, they will not earn money nor contribute to any favorite websites. But in return can browse the web very quickly.

It's Good Friday, and a millionaire is about to rise from the ashes (figuratively)! Comment to enter! [Drawing Thread #41]

Praise thy!

TL;DR of the TL;DR:
In Case You Missed It:
  • So I'm going to be unavailable for the next few hours. Quick notes, this thread will close at 0:00 UTC (8 PM ET) due to me being late by thirteen minutes. As a side effect, comment retrieval will occur, centered at 3:00 UTC (11 PM ET). Not good enough, I was not able to get online before that. 4:00 UTC (12 AM ET) it is! 5:00 UTC (1 AM). Apparently, Pydroid need a repository plug-in, whatever that means. Hope I stay up for that long.
  • The /millionairemakersmeta discussion thread is up, and be welcome to donate to the past winner.
  • UNDER CONSTRUCTION, though can't guarantee it'll get repaired.
TL;DR:
Leave a comment on this thread, replies won't count. A random user will be chosen, and everyone donates a dollar to make a millionaire. You are welcome to spread this thread via upvoting, telling friends and family, and sharing on social media!
  • [If you'd like to be reminded to donate to the winner through PM via the RemindMeBot, click here!](UNAVAILABLE)
In the long term, that’s $120 every decade, which is much more affordable than other expenses.
That's it!
Important Rules:
  • Only ONE top level comment per person (replies and subsequent-level comments aren't included), but feel free to reply to other comments. Making duplicate top level comments may result in exclusion from entering. Go to me to ensure you don't accidentally double comment.
  • If, by any chance, you do double comment, delete any extra duplicates ASAP, ideally before the thread is locked, as any chosen draws found to violate this will not be eligible to win, and will be banned from the subreddit.
  • Method's TL;DR: Your number is assigned by sorting the comments by old, resulting in the first commenter being 1. The list of comments will be publicly released for the community to verify per their own accord.
There will be an official run at the time listed. If it is shown that there are any technical difficulties, the retrieval of the comments will be delayed by an hour, following the same procedures.
  • While not necessary, to determine if you are on the list, please go to your comment and save it. The comment ID is what gets recorded and selected, which looks like this: e3yxpj4.
  • The Draw is held at 16:00 UTC the Sunday after comments have been downloaded, unless stated otherwise. Using the Bitcoin blockchain, the third block yet to be mined will be used to select a winner.
As for gift taxes, according to the IRS, they're paid by the donor, and any donations under $15,000 is not taxable.
If a lone $1 can get you stuff, imagine the possibilities with $1,000,000. You can get stuff, stuff, and stuff!
One million dollars can help do things. Spread the word: have your friends and family comment, post the link to your friendly-neighborhood social media network, and share it to anyone interested.
Let's make an egg-cellent millionaire!

Edit: Thanks for the gold, kind stranger. I actually didn't notice because my inbox self-imploded with over 10,000 messages.
Also, reports go to the mod team. If you really, REALLY, have an issue with this subreddit, please message the admins.
I also added a bullet point on downloading the IDs of comments.

Holidays are coming, the first of which is Halloween. As a side note, don't enter a stranger's home. I'm not your mom, though.

[Discord Conv] Dynamic IOTA

Disclaimer: This is my editing, so there could be some misunderstandings.
For the general view of 'what's going on?' of this dynamic ride...

2/16
dom어제 오전 5:44
Just FYI: the team is now working on a plan on how to recover from this and get the network back into operations while also allowing anyone who might have been affected to safely transition. there are no guarantees just yet, but we will do our best to get this through ASAP. Hopefully we will have a concrete action plan tomorrow and will then communicate it.
On the vulnerability side, all parties are notified and they are working with law enforcement and external auditors to fully understand how this happened. We will keep you guys posted.

dom어제 오전 5:47
needless to say, that the vulnerability itself was rather sophisticated and required access on multiple levels to be able to execute it on this scale. Hopefully we will be able to share more soon.
[Did the vulnerability existed after or before the audit on trinity?]
after the audit

dom어제 오전 5:51
Currently it looks like this will only be for recent Trinity Desktop users

dom어제 오전 5:56
the entire Trinity team did an amazing job and there is not a single person to blame. The attack itself was very sophisticated and targeted at IOTA and Trinity itself. We are already working on v2 where none of this would be possible. We will share our learnings from this publicly and also share what kind of precautionary measures we are taking.

dom어제 오전 5:58
The community also did an amazing job in helping to guide us through and give assistance to other community members.

dom어제 오전 5:58
we actually were having discussions a few weeks ago to rename Trinity (because of the religious connotation)

Jelle Millenaar [IF]어제 오전 6:37
We didn't really have panic and chaos. We actually worked really well together.

Jelle Millenaar [IF]어제 오전 6:38
[IF members, do you get paid Over Time for all the awesome work or PURE DEDICATION?]
nobody considers this overtime or anything. We just contribute because we know it is needed.

dom어제 오전 7:45
[If dependencies carry this risk, maybe they should've done an official CORE wallet and saved all the fluffy stuff for a third party app.]
that's how the new Trinity will work. Sucks that it happened now especially after we wanted to put it into maintenance mode anyways

dom어제 오전 7:49
[How do we know if the hacker has our seeds?]
this is related to a third party, unrelated to IF or IOTA

dom어제 오전 7:50
we know that this could have only been done through intrusion / collusion of an external source.
[Dom are you fully confident to solve all those problems especially regarding the possibility of even more people getting scammed instantly after coo is back again?]
yes, relatively sure. That is why we are taking the necessary time to plan accordingly.

dom어제 오전 7:55
We will provide more information on how this exploit was done soon. All the involved parties are aware of the situation

dom어제 오전 7:58
[Please give us some time before you start the coo information that we can move to new seed instantly]
don't worry, we will get it all sorted out.

dom어제 오전 8:22
once life is a bit less "tumultuos" I still want to work on that Autonomous Bar concept powered by IOTA (access control, id verification, payment and a bunch of robots)

Eric Hop [IF]어제 오후 2:44
Pretty good. I'd be surprised if we find more theft bundles. Only found one more today, while building a timeline of the theft.

Eric Hop [IF]어제 오후 2:50
We have several separate teams. One is looking at how to resume. One is looking at how to be able to rescue the funds. Others are interacting with law enforcement and third parties. I'm part of DAFT. The Data Analysis Forensics Team. Haha

Eric Hop [IF]어제 오후 3:01
Some if the people in Coordicide team like Hans have been helping out. It was an all hands on deck situation. I actually loved it. We haven't had this much of a team spirit in quite a while. Usually everyone plays in their own sand box. But this time we all played together on the beach.
It's such a joy working with so many extremely smart people. With so many eyes on the ball we did not miss much opportunities to figure things out.

Eric Hop [IF]어제 오후 3:07
And for me personally this was a great time. I am all about puzzle solving. And this was the greatest puzzle of all. With a built-in time limit. Haha

Eric Hop [IF]어제 오후 3:12
I'm not doing official statements. But we have a good overview of what happened and the extent of it. Right now we want to hammer down how to resume without risks and how to safeguard the stuck funds if possible. What is especially funny to me is that the coordinator that everyone was bitching about for years did exactly the thing it was meant to do. It allowed us to halt an exploit that otherwise would have cost everyone dearly.

Eric Hop [IF]어제 오후 3:15
It was meant as safeguard, training wheels, while we mature. And while we need to remove it due to it being a single point of failure and a bottle neck to scaling, I will be kind of sad to see it go.
Yes, IF would have done the same to safeguard funds, if a third party wallet would have been the cause. Just because we can.

Eric Hop [IF]어제 오후 3:37
Yes it was a manual attack. The sophistication was in the exploit. But he seemed to be not too sophisticated iota-wise. Everyone has their specialties I guess.

Eric Hop [IF]어제 오후 3:41
And as an aside I wish people would fuck off about the whole iota not being decentralized because of coordinator, when every block chain token is centralized around a few mining pools that seriously disrupt any possibility for positive software development. They fucking hold back everything that influences their bottom line. Which is why Bitcoin and the rest have pretty much been stagnant for years while we move forward constantly.

dom오늘 오전 7:08
We will release a new Trinity version tomorrow with the fixes implemented. It's not yet the full transition tool, but it's the first step towards fully going back to operations.

dom오늘 오전 7:09
Just wait for the rest. It is important that we get this 100% right and we are still further investigating, so there is a lot of behind the scenes work happening right now.

David Sønstebø오늘 오전 8:52
So... Tangle EE
Quite cool eh?
It's so unfortunate that this asshole managed to distract everything away from one of the biggest steps towards global adoption
Let's not give this fuckface further attention. The cause has been identified, law enforcement is involved and mitigation strategy is being worked on. There will be further official updates, but let's not halt the whole IOTA project due to one idiot.

David Sønstebø오늘 오전 8:56
[Is he identified?]
Let's just say that there's a lot of traces. The attacker does not seem to have been too sophisticated. Official update on Monday will provide details.

David Sønstebø오늘 오전 9:03
[How will this situation affect iotas partners?]
My best guess: further increasing our reputation as an organization that solves hard problems efficiently and doesn't shy away from difficulties. Every company in the world has had issues similar to this. Keep in mind that this does not at all affect the protocol/Tangle/IOTA.

David Sønstebø오늘 오전 9:08
We do have a bounty program. This/these individual/s were not interested in the greater good, pure greed and incompetence

David Sønstebø오늘 오전 9:10
[Any examples of use cases for DID on the tangle?]
Virtually all use cases on Tangle requires a secure identifier and verifiable credentials. What I think will happen is that once Tangle EE ships the first version, all other companies using IOTA will start to implement it
[One more question: How transparent will tangle EE be for the community?]
100%. This is why I/we consider Tangle EE to be such a significant milestone, it's not "just" IF, this is a coalition of major companies, start-ups and leading academic institutions building the solutions

David Sønstebø오늘 오전 9:11
[any ETA for the 1st Version?]
That's another good thing, IF won't issue the ETAs, Tangle EE will :

David Sønstebø오늘 오전 9:12
[What does T(angle)EE do exactly?]
It's a partnership and collaboration between several entities to develop and ship code and blueprints that are relevant for product developers and service providers
That blog post is a good read to get better comprehension

David Sønstebø오늘 오전 9:13
It's incredibly important that IF's role slowly but surely decreases in importance. IOTA has to succeed independent of IF post-Coordicide and multiversial-slicing (advanced sharding equivalent)

David Sønstebø오늘 오전 9:14
I would say that it's an incredible important piece of the puzzle. Naturally Object Management Group (OMG) in Tangle EE will be key here as well, but IOTA is not married to "just" Eclipse. We also work closely with Linux Foundation. However, Tangle EE is very focused

David Sønstebø오늘 오전 9:22
I don't think IF will disappear, however, it will hopefully be purely R&D-driven in 10 years, whereas the other efforts are taken over by the ecosystem (companies, academia, start-ups and enthusiasts). Even post-Coordicide, we already now have theories on how to go way beyond even that. If we achieve our goal of IOTA being equivalent to TCP/IP, there will naturally be continuous development and research in the foreseeable future. I doubt we will reach complete satisfaction, especially now that smart contracts and oracles enter the equation: there's certainly more work to be done for IF, but my goal is for IF to "simply" be R&D

David Sønstebø오늘 오전 9:27
Definitely. This is why I coined the requirement for a "grandma on crack"; this is truly how simply using IOTA should be in 2-5 years. Just like very few even know wtf TCP/IP is

David Sønstebø오늘 오전 9:57
I agree 100% with your assessment, though as would Netflix do with Blockbuster's assessment when they declined to acquire Netflix. At the end of the day it's all about basic economic and human behavioural principles.
Human nature does not change, but our environment does. Disruption will continue forever. Darwinian principles will forever remain true.
A better option = adoption. It doesn't matter how hard the incumbents fight against it, they either adapt or go Kodak/Nokia/AOL

TL;DR: Leave a comment on this thread. A random user will be chosen, and everyone donates a dollar to make a millionaire. Don't forget to upvote this thread and join our mailing list! Reminder to donate and reminder to enter the next drawing
What is this, anyway?
Two years ago, a redditor posted an idea in /Showerthoughts that speculated the fact that If a million of us picked a certain redditor and all donated just $1, we would have the power to make someone a millionaire.
We are now an embodiment of that showerthought, and this is our next attempt to make it happen.
We need your help to keep this running, which only amounts to a $1 a month to make someone's day. Now how does it work? Look below.
How to enter:
Important Rules:
How will the winner be picked and how can you donate?
Reminders
At this point, Reddit, it's all up to you. Make us proud. Change the world. Prove the internet can do good.
MOST IMPORTANTLY
Remember, this is about generosity, about making history, and about coming together to make someone's life better. So take 3 minutes to donate a bit to the winner, whether you're well off and want to donate a few bucks, or going through tough times and can only donate a few cents. Every cent counts.
Note about legality: This is NOT a lottery. You don't have to pay to enter. Also, WE are not giving any prizes away (the moderators will never even touch your donations). As for gift taxes, according to the IRS they're generally paid by the donor, and any donation under $14,000 is not taxable.
Think of what you could do with $1,000,000... You could pay off student loans, have lifesaving surgery, or even give $1 to a million people!
So Reddit, thanks for sticking with us through that long post. It's finally time to change a life. Help us to the front page, so we can make history, and...
LET'S MAKE A MILLIONAIRE!
