I just had a wild hair and searched for Bitcoin on Ebay and there were a lot of listings. From what I understand, Bitcoin is not covered by PayPal buyer protection. The only ones I would even consider buying are the small increment Bitcoin, but they are selling them for twice their market value. Why would someone by $5 worth of Bitcoin on Ebay for $10? They are selling them too. I am just trying to figure out the angle...
I can't currently afford to buy any bitcoin from mt.gov or sites similar, as I am currently living on a student budget. However, I have came across an ebay listing for 3BTC currently going for £100 ($150) that I could afford, but only if I can get the money I put in back. I would be able to buy these, and then sell them at the current price ($240 each) making a large profit, however, I was wondering if anybody has done something similar, as it seems like it's too good to be true. If the seller did not follow through, would I receive a refund through ebay or paypal? Edit: okay, so it's almost definitley a scam, here is the listing though if anybody is curious about it. Currently going for £140
I'm very new to Bitcoins and I just purchased .005 bitcoin on ebay using my paypal account. I set up a bitcoin wallet (multibit) and provided the wallet number to the seller. Is this a good way of buying bitcoins? I know of coinbase, mtgox, and coinmkt. I've had a lot of difficulty using all of these, so I got a little fed up and tried ebay. I couldn't connect coinbase to my bank account, mtgox requires a passport and proof of residency so I don't want to use it, and the page to deposit money into coinmkt never loads... any help here?
All of us who use or invest in BTC understand its strong points and we know how to get a hold of Bitcoin and we know what to do with Bitcoin once we have it. The problem is that the average user does not have the knowledge and know-how that we do. They understand that Bitcoin is very important and valuable, but their knowledge stops there. Bitcoin is not easily available to the average person. Sure you can find a site and link a bank account for funding, but that can take a week or more, no one wants to wait that long. You can find a site and then fill out a form and then go to Wal-mart or whatever, but that is difficult. You can buy Bitcoin on Ebay, but you are going to pay a premium much higher then they are worth. Bitcoin needs to be easily accessible to the average internet user that wants to be able to purchase Bitcoin immediately without having to leave their home.

Looking to buy a Ledger nano s before the fork but want that quick delivery that eBay can offer. Is relatively safe to buy on eBay to know I'm getting a genuine product? Or has that not been a thing heard of as of yet? [Edit] Just ordered through the Ledger website for peace of mind. Says 2-5 days delivery so hopefully I can get it set up in time for the fork

Looking to buy a new phone on ebay (xperia z2) and ive been messaging people to see if theyd accept bitcoin.
Was shopping and realized that i could message and explain bitcoin to anyone who is selling something (such as a 550 dollar phone) and i can tell them that if theyll sell it for bitcoin, theyll save 60 dollars in fees from paypal. It helps educate one more person, and we both get a better deal . Edit: ON EBAY. lol, left out an important detail
